The 1900’s are considered “The Olden Days” to my students. Yeah, it was a while back, but I still remember the way we dressed back then. Torn jeans, band T-shirt, army surplus jacket, and of course boots and a flannel. Those who wanted to follow along with making patterns for their clothing created a plaid for their flannels and camoflauge pattern for their jacket or T-shirt.

I went into mild detail about how music was on a physical disc, rather than on a phone or computer back then. Some of their mommies and daddies had CD’s at home but, according to the kids, they’re not being used whatsoever.

Note: I played Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, and Garbage for the class. One of these bands got a unanimous thumbs-down (S.P.) and one of these bands got chants to hear “I’m Only Happy When it Rains” again and again.
