In this lesson, students will heard about the origins of American country music, including Hollywood cowboys and cowgirls, The Grand Ole Opry, and some artists who have changed traditional country music. We talked about the difference between Hollywood cowboys and the real ones, who were not as wealthy as those flashy ones.
Then, students designed a fancy cowgirl or cowboy outfit with actual fringe! This was a great way for me to use up those scraps of construction paper that have been sitting in a bin inside my storage closet for years!
